THE BENEFITS OF HYBRID ENGINEERING - DAMEN SHIPYARDS GORINCHEM
The ASD Tug 2813 from Damen Shipyards Gorinchem is an innovative, highly perfomant and ecological tugboat design. The vessel is safe due to a large freeboard and the detail design focusses on production cost reduction and optimization. The tug is intended for operations as well in ports as at terminals.
MULTI has conducted a review of the concept design before the project came into the basic design phase.
This project was executed in our “Hybrid” engineering model where in this case one of our naval architects shifted between clients office, when needed and our own office where our engineers worked on this project. This flexible approach led to improved corporation and any forms of delay could be tackled on the spot
