CADMATIC hull and outfitting (former NUPAS)
An engineering tool for ship's hulls, piping, machinery, HVAC, cable trays and outfitting engineering. The software saves time and money at all stages of the building of a ship, from the basic constructional and preliminary design of engine rooms and piping systems to detail engineering and product information. The combination of highly advanced 3D modelling options and powerful production modules enhances the engineering quality and reduces the lead time 

Software which allows for fast and accurate hull modelling and hydro-static analysis. Delftship is used for intact and damaged stability calculations. Several codes (incl. MODU code for floating units) can be applied to the models.   

DNVGL - Poseidon  
POSEIDON is an integrated software for the strength assessment of ship hull structures. The ship design process is made more efficient through the software’s compact yet powerful modelling functions and its comprehensive analysis capabilities.   

Create fair hull shapes, develop optimal designs which comply with stability requirements, minimize power requirements, and ensure crew and passenger comfort in varying sea states. Perform a range of analyses including intact and damaged stability, power and resistance calculation. 

Perform fast hull form variation and analysis with team-based concurrent modelling on a common 3D parametric model. Software is capable of importing and exporting various file types to work with.  

MARS 2000
Bureau Veritas' software suite for 2D structural assessment according to their Structural Rules for Classification of Steel Ships.

MicroStation is the world’s leading 2D and 3D CAD and information modeling software explicitly for the architecture, engineering, construction, and operation of utility systems, roads and rail, bridges, buildings, communications networks, water and wastewater networks, process plants, mining, and more.

Nemetschek SCIA Engineer
Finite element method analysis software for 1D and 2D elements. Capabilities include buckling and non-linear calculations. The extensive profile library ensures rapid calculation.

Rhino is a free-form NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational Basis Spline are mathematical representations of 3D geometry used for accurately describing simple to complex curves and surfaces with precision)  surface modeler. With Rhino, you can create, edit, analyze, and translate NURBS curves, point clouds, and polygon meshes ,surfaces, and solids in Windows or Mac environments. There are no limitations on complexity, degree, or size of the model you design.  

Surfaces or solids modeled in software later on can be rendered, animated. It is also possible to export Rhinoceros design with various range of file formats which are compatible with other CAD (Computer-aided design), CAE (Computer-aided engineering) or FEM (Finite element method) softwares.

Finite element method structural analysis software for 1D and 2d elements. Capabilities include buckling and non-linear calculations. For basic calculations according to Eurocode rules.

SOLIDWORKS delivers robust 3D design capabilities, performance, and ease-of-use. Not only can you create fully detailed parts, assemblies, and production-level drawings, but you can access all the tools required to generate complex surfaces, sheet metal flat patterns, and structural welded assemblies.  

Staad Pro  
Staad Pro is a linear beam theory-based program using wire-frame models. General steel structures can be calculated according to various standards (AISC, EC, …).
